Diego Costa gave Chelsea fans a glimpse of what may lie ahead for them in the coming Premier League season with a terrific solo goal against Fenerbahce on Friday night.
Jose Mourinho’s side were playing in a three-team charity tournament in Turkey in support of the families of the victim of the Soma mining disaster, with Besiktas the other team in the trio.
All three teams played one another for 45 minutes at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul and it was Besiktas who came out on top – Arsenal’s Champions League playoff opponents winning both their matches
Moment of the evening
However, the highlight of the evening was goal by the Stamford Bridge club’s £32million summer signing that sent them on their way to victory over Fenerbahce.
Costa picked up the ball about 35 yards out from goal just to the left of the area and accelerated past two opponents before slaloming through three more and finishing will a cool right foot shot across goal into the bottom corner.
