Paul Pogba believes Manchester United target Arturo Vidal will leave Juventus this summer, giving the Old Trafford club a boost in a transfer chase that has been ongoing for much of the summer.
Various reports have claimed Louis van Gaal is keen on taking the Chile international to the Red Devils in a possible transfer that could reportedly cost as much as £40million.
Manchester United’s new manager is expected to make changes to his squad after assessing them on the tour of the US and arriving back in England this week, with midfield one of the areas a number of commenters believe needs improvement.
Now Pogba has hinted that Vidal could be on his way to the Premier League giants after admitting that the Juventus squad were “hearing” that their teammate is on the way out this summer while on a pre-season trip to Australia.
"We're hearing that Vidal is going but we don't know," he is quoted as saying in Australian newspaper The Age.
However, he was hopeful that this would not come to pass and that Vidal would resist the lure of Manchester United to stay with the Bianconeri. The France international also revealed that Vidal was currently out injured and some reports recently revealed that Van Gaal may have doubts over a move for Vidal because of fitness issues.
"For the moment he's injured, he's trying to get fit. We want him to stay at Juventus. At the moment he's here so we won't speak about him leaving,” he added.
