Arsene Wenger hailed his attacking options after Arsenal despatched Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield on Sunday and claimed the current crop of players was the best he has had at his disposal for a long time.
£32million summer signing Alexis Sanchez was lively for the half he played at Wembley, while youngster Yaya Sanogo showed signs that his development had moved on some way over the summer.
Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud scored the goals and the impressive performance was put on without the likes of Mesut Özil, Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott, so the Gunners’ French manager certainly has options in the coming campaign.
The combination of Özil, Giroud, Walcott, Sanchez, Ramsey and others is certainly one for fans of the Emirates Stadium club to get excited about, but it remains to be seen if they can become a force potent enough to fire Arsenal to the Premier League title.
