Spurs youngster Kenneth McEvoy enjoyed his first taste of competitive senior football when he made his appearance as a second half substitute in Peterborough's 1-0 win over League One newcomers Rochdale.
The flying winger left the bench in the 65th minute ro replace the injured Jon Taylor with the score already 1-0 to Posh thanks to Kyle Vassell's 61st minute goal. McEvoy won a free-kick and also had an effort off target, and will look to play some part in Darren Ferguson's team over the coming weeks, possible Tuesday's League Cup tie at Portsmouth.
Pritchard also impresses
Elsewhere Alex Pritchard impressed as promoted Brentford scored a later equaliser to draw against Charlton in Championship, Grant Hall played as Birmingham lost 2-0 away to Middlesborough, and Shaq Coulthirst won a penalty that was missed before former Spur Lee Barnard did convert an 85th minute spot kick to seal a one-nil win for Shaq's team Southend United.
Jordan Archer fails to get off bench
Jordan Archer unfortunately stayed on the bench as Northampton Town won by a single goal. The Scotland U21 keeper had enjoyed a successful spell at fellow League Two Wycombe Wanderers two seasons ago and it is disappointing that he has neither made the step up in league nor started last weekend.
In the United States Grant Ward came off the bench as Chicago Fire continued their impression form by defeating New York Red Bulls 1-0.
With Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino lamenting the bloated size of his playing squad, there could be more players leaving temporarily on loan.
