Today's top US headline, is Johnny Manziel already turning into Tim Tebow?

One of the most watched events at the weekend was Johnny Manziel's NFL debut.

Solid start

Manziel completed 7 of 11 passes for 63 yards and scrambled six times for 27 yards in the Browns pre-season opener against the Lions in Detroit.

But it's not these stats that are linking Manziel to Tim Tebow again.

According to ESPN analyst Skip Bayless, he's worried that Brown's offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is turning Manziel into Tebow.

Tebow turn

Manziel never ran the read option in college with Texas A&M. But on Saturday, Manziel was forced to use Tebow's favorite play, which ended unsuccessfully.

Tim Tebow is well known for a stellar college career and reasonably successful Denver Broncos career.

But ultimately he became an NFL bust because of his lack of passing accuracy.
