Drew League dunk contest shows NBA stars how it's done

The Drew League dunk contest was held recently and two of the top dunkers squared off in the finals.

It was Young Hollywood versus Airdogg, and they did something the NBA dunk contest has not done in years, they entertained.

No props here

Instead of pulling out every prop known to man, these dunkers let their athleticism and dunks speak for themselves.

Many people believe there are no dunks left to perform, and that is the reason the NBA contest has soured on the fans. However, this Drew League contest is proving that there is much left to accomplish.

Classics and new takes

There were many classic dunks along with some we rarely see, from the honeypot to a 540 degree spin, and even a between the legs dunk over Clipper Darrel. The contestants left the crowd wowed, and hopefully sent a message to the future NBA dunk contest participants.

The bar has been reset, and it is not over the hood of a KIA. With young hopefuls like Zach Lavine of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Andrew Wiggins currently of the Cleveland Cavaliers looking to participate, they need to see the bar has been set.
