Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal could sell winger Nani at a knockdown price to Juventus as he goes in search of landing Chilean star Arturo Vidal.
This has been reported by The Daily Star, who have suggested that the new Manchester United boss has made Vidal his No.1 transfer target in this summer's transfer window.
It appears, then, that United are looking to sweeten up the Serie A giants in order to land the midfield superstar before the close of the window at the start of next month. The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the Chilean ace for some time now, but a deal between United and Juventus has still not been struck.
It's not surprising, however, that United are ready to offload Nani in a separate deal, as the Portuguese ace has struggled at the Theatre of Dreams in recent time. The winger failed to make an impact throughout the David Moyes era in 2013/14 and now looks set to leave the club despite only signing a new five-year deal with the club last season.
It remains to be seen as to whether Nani, who has also been linked with a move to AC Milan and Arsenal in recent time, will complete a move to to Turin before the close of the window, but United fans will certainly be hoping that Vidal heads in the other direction.
Vidal would certainly prove a major coup for United as they go in search of success under Van Gaal. The Red Devils' midfielders endured a nightmare campaign in 2013/14, as the likes of Tom Cleverley, Marouane Fellaini and Co. struggled to make an impact.
The new United chief has, however, already landed Spanish ace Ander Herrera in this window, and Vidal would be a fine partner for the ex-La Liga ace. It's unlikely that Manchester United will land Vidal before their season opener with Swansea City this weekend.
It's expected that Darren Fletcher - who has just been named the club's vice captain - will partner Herrera in the middle of the park against the Welsh outfit.
