Jabari Parker is a top prospect that was taken high in the 2014 NBA Draft, and big things are expected of him going into his rookie season.
Granted he can somewhat polarize opinion as well. Some believe he will flatter to deceive during his NBA career, with most of those opinions stemming from his poor showing in the March Madness NCAA Tournament.
But others believe he will sour the higher echelons of NBA greatness during a career that some are tipping will be off the charts.
Milwaukee Bucks fans will have the pleasure of seeing Jabari Parker's growth as a basketball player. And First Take's Stephen A.Smith believes greatness is in store for Parker as Smith compared him to a current NBA superstar.
“Jabari Parker has a great feel for basketball. Jabari Parker has an opportunity to be like Carmelo Anthony. He’s going to be big time, I like him,” Stephen A.Smith explained on First Take this week.
A lot to prove
Whether or not Jabari Parker lives up to the Carmelo Anthony comparison remains to be seen, but if he does he will have to be ready to dominate.
That's because it's exactly what Carmelo has been doing during his career to date.
Despite having never played with any true NBA stars, and never in a team with a real shot at making an NBA Finals, Carmelo has time and time again displayed his greatness for all to see.
During his career so far, Carmelo has averaged over 25 points per game, with stats for both Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks equally impressive.
Last season, Jabari Parker scored just under 20 points per game in college basketball. If he is to live up to the Carmelo hype, improving his scoring record will have to be his first point of call.
