Some of women’s top golfers are taking to the field at Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford , New York for the fourth major of the women’s season – The LPGA Championship. The bad weather didn’t stop golfers from getting some practice in, including British Open Winner Mo Martin, who’s just about finding her feet as a major champion:
Mo Martin "It's been a whirlwind and things have changed. For one, I'm doing press conferences - that wasn't happening before, so I'm adjusting my time really, a lot more time commitment to interviews - the first two weeks we had off after Toledo, I was doing multiple interviews a day. So that was great exposure for me so it's just really trying to get my time and my preparation like it was before, but I've been able to do some fun things like put a roof on my grandpa's ranch and threw out the first pitch at the Dodgers game. So I'm adjusting to post-major life."
Meanwhile Inbee Park who won the tournament last year after a play off, has had a superb season, winning three tournaments including the U.S. Women’s Open. Despite losing her world number one ranking to Stacey Lewis in June, she has had some good results since and will be hoping to hit form just in time for this weekend:
"Yeah, I mean I have, probably for the last month or so, I played really well out there. I just played really good last week as well but just got a little bit unlucky there. I feel like my game is a little bit better and yeah, hopefully I need a couple of good wins and hopefully back (to No. 1) again."
