Monday night on Raw, the WWE played witness to Stephanie McMahon outing Daniel Bryan as a cheat as she brought out Megan Miller, his alleged mistress in a way to provoke Brie just days before their scheduled clash.
Brie rose to the bait and slapped Megan after Stephanie goaded her in the ring, and announced that they would then finished this later in the night and when Brie came out to fight Stephanie she was confronted by officers who then arrested her for battery.
Will she make it?
Stephanie then told Brie she would see her at SummerSlam, if she made bail in time. It has since been reported that Brie made bail yesterday from the Multnoah detention centre in Portland, Oregan.
This means that Brie will be making the match, and this was the final build up. There were rumours surrounding the fact that Triple H could have been announced as the special guest referee for the match between the two but Smackdown and Main Event last night were the final opportunity for the announcement to be made and it wasn't, which means this will be a straight forward one-on-one match.
Don't be surprised if Triple H and Nikki make appearances at ringside on their respective sides, as well as Daniel Bryan possibly making a cameo appearance in favour of his wife. This match seems to have all the building up of a fairly vicious encounter between the two and it seems there is no way Stephanie is sticking to the rules on this one.
Although last night's Main Event taping did see Sheamus and Rob Van Dam form a new tag team to answer The Usos open challenge along with RybAxel. Whether this is a sign of something to come at SummerSlam remains to be seen as Sheamus isn't set to defend his title at "the biggest party of the Summer" because he has been suffering from the flu in recent weeks.
The two were interviewed backstage and RVD said it had been a while since he held gold and he approached Sheamus about making a team and they both decided it was a perfect idea.
This could be a way of putting the US Champion on the card for Summerslam, even though the kick-off show was announced as The Usos v RybAxel v Goldust and Stardust v Harper and Rowan with the Tag Titles on the line, but every card is subject to change.
Either way, the build up to SummerSlam is no officially finished. We are just four days away from the "Biggest fight of the Summer" and the most anticipated Divas match in years, this year WWE got it just right.
