Ronda Rousey is arguably the biggest draw in UFC right now. Yes every UFC fan has Jon Jones fever in one way or another, but it is Ronda Rousey that enhances pay-per-view figures the most and dominates the Google searches of UFC stars.
So for all of those Ronda Rousey fans out there, here is some excellent news. It seems that Rousey is still fully committed to UFC despite her movie success, and you can expect her to be in the Octagon again before she makes her next movie.
Achieve the impossible
UFC fans did began to worry that they were losing their Women's Bantamweight Champion to Hollywood stardom after her big part in Expendables 3. But Rousey explained that she wants to dominate both UFC and Hollywood.
"I always do much better when I prove people wrong than when I fulfil people's expectations," Rousey explained in the video below.
"I really wanted to be one of the first people to have an active athletic career and be actively acting as well. I knew a lot of people said it couldn't be done.
"Some say 'once you start doing movies you're going to lose' but I was like exactly, that's one more impossible thing I need to do."
UFC before movies
Many fans might worry that the lure of Hollywood might trip up the UFC star, but Rousey revealed that she is currently on the mend and has a UFC fight in her sights next before she appears in another movie.
"I'm just recovering from knee surgery right now. I have already been cleared and I'm back in the gym. I want to fight before I can make another movie. If I can get on the New Year's card, then I will fight before I make another movie.
"It's about finding a balance. If I can't fight I'll make a movie, and if I can't make a movie I'll have a fight. I've got great options right now."
Next big bout
But who does she want to fight on her return to UFC? As mentioned above, the New Year's Day UFC card is her aim, and she revealed to Fox Sports that she would like to finally stop undefeated number one contender Cat Zingano.
"Gena and Holly are two that are definitely on my radar right now. And Cat Zingano was the number one contender and is still undefeated, and she is now just coming back from her knee injury.
"I always promised her that we would have the title fight that she deserved one day. I'm looking forward to having that and seeing her back in the division."
It is exciting times for UFC fans, and Ronda Rousey is at the heart of it.
