Manchester United transfer news: Everton rule out James McCarthy move

Published Add your comment

Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their alleged pursuit of James McCarthy after Everton manager Roberto Martinez warned the midfielder's suitors he won't be sold. The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has emerged as one of the Toffees most influential players following a £13m move from Wigan Athletic last summer. Louis van Gaal has been credited with an interest in bringing McCarthy to Old Trafford, but Martinez is adamant that the player's future remains at Goodison Park.
