Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal is confident of completing a deal for Arturo Vidal before the close of the transfer window - but he'll have to up his proposed £40m offer.
That's according to the Daily Express, who report that Juventus will reject any United offer that includes Javier Hernandez and Nani as part of the package. Juventus are ready to move for PSG attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi, and want straight cash for Vidal.
With Lavezzi incoming, they've no need for Hernandez or Nani. Van Gaal is willing to sacrifice both United stars before the end of the transfer window as he looks to secure Vidal, his top transfer priority.
United are willing to pay up to £40m for the Chilean international, with the two players thrown in. But the report claims United will have to pay considerably more than that in the wake of Juve's interest in Lavezzi.
Di Maria interest
The Lavezzi deal also has repercussions for United, as PSG are looking to sell the Argentinian international in an effort to raise the transfer funds to bid for Angel Di Maria.
Di Maria, himself a United target, is available this summer following Real Madrid's capture of James Rodriguez from Monaco. PSG ruled themselves out of the race due to financial fair play obligations. But if they sell a number of first-team players, they'll raise the cash to meet Madrid's demands.
Other United deals
Back to United, and although Van Gaal remains confident a deal will be reached in the next two weeks, he has a number of replacements in mind should it get near to the deadline without a deal.
Barcelona's Alex Song and Roma's Kevin Strootman are the two leading contenders, while Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind are also deals that United are still working on.
