Ahead of the biggest party of the summer, the hottest name in the WWE right now Roman Reigns has issued some strong words to a wrestling legend.
Reigns is set to take on Randy Orton at the Staples Center on Sunday as one of the biggest feuds in the company right now comes to a surely dramatic climax.
Reigns was speaking to Chuck Carroll for CBS Los Angeles in a promo for the whole event and he was posed a question about one of wrestling's biggest legends.
The WCW and TNA legend Sting has been heavily linked with the WWE in recent months.
He has represented the WWE at Comic Con and will even be on the panel at Summer Slam to make his first personal appearance at a WWE Pay-Per-View.
When asked if Reigns had a message for the legend, he said: "For his sake, if he steps in the ring, I hope he stays away from me. I’m not the guy to run into these days."
Reigns may have a point as he has cut his way through everyone in the WWE since the collapse of the Shield.
Thanks to NXT, there is currently a lot of youthful potential in the WWE right now and Reigns, along with his Shield brethren Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are former NXT superstars.
Reigns made sure to include the younger superstars in his message to Sting by promising that "there’s a whole bunch of youngins on this roster that are hungry and we’re not trying to give any space for anybody else."
With Summer Slam taking place in Los Angeles this Sunday, Reigns was asked if he would be following fellow WWE superstars by making movies in Hollywood.
Reigns said ""I’m willing to try anything and gain a little experience in anything."
The NXT generation
The former NXT stars have on occasion struggled in the big time with the two newest arrivals Adam Rose and Bo Dallas not really being involved in the bigger feuds.
Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose merged together and became the hounds of justice in order to make it in the WWE and became one of the most powerful factions ever.
The Shield has now disbanded and the three members gone separate ways with all three set to feature at Summer Slam in highly anticipated matches.
