Contract talks break down
However, it appears the Argentina forward has failed to agree terms with PSG and now the club are being forced to consider cashing in on him this summer.
Lavezzi only joined from Napoli in 2012 and was considered an important player last season, but with limited time left on his contract, PSG want to cash in. £20 million is the price tag.
Premier League scramble
The news could start a scramble amongst the Premier League elite, where the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been accredited with an interest.
Jose Mourinho could use his links, built during the £50 million sale of David Luiz, to gain the upper hand.
Brendan Rodgers is rumoured to be seeking attacking options and even though Lavezzi is not an out and out striker, he could still contribute a significant amount of goals at his best.
Arsenal appear to be set in the wide positions but Lukas Podolski has been linked with a move away in recent weeks. Arsene Wenger may be seeking a potential replacement in the instance that an acceptable offer arrives for the German World Cup winner.
