Heading into WWE's second biggest pay-per-view event - SummerSlam, one of the most highly-anticipated matches was between Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon, and it did not disappoint.
Prior to this match up there had been a whole host of speculation, with rumours regarding a possible appearance by Brie's husband Daniel Bryan, as well as an interferance by Stephanie's partner Triple H or Brie's sister Nikki.
Stephanie's music was first to come blaring out of the speakers, and the part-owner of WWE emerged in an outfit which consisted of a lot more material than we are used to seeing other Divas wrestle in.
She walked to the ring unaccompanied, and we soon heard Brie Bella's entrance theme as she too came out alone.
As soon as the bell rung, Stephanie seemed determined to prove her position in the business as well as her feelings towards Brie as she launched several attacks and soon seemed the likely winner.
However, after several altercations between the two, one half of the Bella twin's managed to get her boss into the Yes Lock, made infamous by Brie's partner Daniel Bryan. It wasn't long before an interruption occurred as Triple H soon appeared to help his wife by dragging the referee out of the ring.
Brie's sister Nikki also appeared, supposedly to assist Brie against their boss. This however was not the case as when eventually it was these three women left in the ring, Nikki turned on Brie and attacked her instead of Stephanie, proving the rumour regarding a possible rivalry between the sisters was in fact true.
After which, Stephanie added insult to injury for Brie by using Triple H's move of The Pedigree on her and consequently pinning her to take the victory.
Brie Bella therefore is a match down against her boss and enemy Stephanie McMahon as well as having concern for her husband who is undergoing surgery on his neck and a new rivalry with her twin sister which will undoubtedly develop further in upcoming weeks.
