Arsenal take on Turkish outfit Besiktas at the Inonu Stadium this evening in the first leg of the Champions League qualifying play-off round.
The Gunners come into the match off the back of Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in their opening Premier League match of the 2014/15 campaign - and hope to follow up that result with another victory in Turkey, to leave them with one foot in this season’s Champions League group stages.
A hostile atmosphere will greet Arsenal’s players, as Besiktas’s passionate supporters aim to do their bit to ensure their side travel back to the Emirates Stadium next Wednesday with an aggregate advantage.
Besiktas qualified for the play-off round thanks to a 5-3 aggregate victory over Feyenoord in the previous round, with former Chelsea striker Demba Ba netting a superb hat-trick in the second leg.
Besiktas: Tolga Zengin, İsmail Köybaşı, Perdro Franco, Ersan Gülüm, Ramon Motta, Necip, Veli, Oğuzhan, Olcay, Mustafa Pektemek, Demba Ba
Arsenal:Szczesny, Chambers, Debuchy, Koscielny, Monreal, Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, Arteta, Sanchez, Giroud
Arsenal Subs: Martinez, Rosicky, OXlade-Chamberlain, Flamini, Campbell, Bellerin, Miquel.
Chambers and Sanchez both start
Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic sprang no real surprises with his starting line-up, naming Ba as his most advanced striker.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, handed a start to Olivier Giroud after opting to play Yaya Sanogo instead against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Calum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez, who cost Arsenal a combined £48 million, both start for the Gunners.
