Manchester United and Liverpool could be about to miss out on Monaco striker Radamel Falcao, with Juventus poised to make a club record offer for the Colombian, according to the Express.
The striker is expected to leave Monaco this summer and has been linked with a variety of clubs including Real Madrid, however it seems as though his future may lie elsewhere.
Liverpool are the latest English club to be linked with Falcao having reportedly made an approach to take him on loan with a view of making the deal permanent next year, while Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in him. Manchester City are believed to have along-standing interest in the 28-year-old.
Liverpool were reportedly informed that they stood no chance of securing the Colombian's services, and while Manchester United and Manchester City's interest is well established, it seemed as though he was destined for Real Madrid.
However it is Juventus who are showing the most interest as it stands, and the Express say that they are willing to break their won transfer record in order to get their man. That figure currently stands at £32 million - the fee they paid to sign Gianluigi Buffon back in 2001.
Monaco paid in excess of £50 million for Falcao last year, but the former Atletico Madrid man, who missed the World Cup through injury, is said to have grown restless in the principality and is hankering for a move.
It is believed that they would accept an offer in the region of £35 million, which would seem to be well within Juventus' reach given their status as one of Europe's biggest clubs.
Liverpool appear to be out of the running for his services and have turned to a more realistic target; Samuel Eto'o. The Cameroonian was released by Chelsea and could be on his way to Anfield, although he is also attracting interest from Ajax.
The Reds are in the market to replace Luis Suarez who joined Barcelona earlier this summer for a fee believed to be in the region of £65 million.
Manchester United look strong in attack, but there are some doubts over Robin van Persie's fitness and Javier Hernandez could be on his way out of Old Trafford, which could open a space for Falcao. The Red Devils are in a rush to get deals done before deadline day, having only completed their third transfer of the summer - Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon - this week.
