Robert Griffin III has had a roller-coaster ride in the NFL to say the least and with the quarterback entering his third season, the scepticism surrounding his ability and health has never been higher.

Although people doubting him is nothing new to RG3, he has dealt with it his whole life and has developed thick skin through it all.

After astonishing the league with his brilliance in 2012 and being awarded the Rookie of the Year, injury has devastated the progression of the quarterback and now questions continue to be asked whether Griffin is the same player he was two seasons ago.

Many think he can't keep himself healthy and that is injured knee hasn't fully recovered, others believe he is too reckless and has shown that in abundance in the pre-season, either way the 24-year-old is hell-bent on proving the doubters wrong.

RG3 took to Twitter to call out the sceptics and doubters, he tweeted saying: "They doubted in High School, They doubted a turnaround at Baylor. They doubted a Heisman was possible. Keep doubting. It’s nothing New.”

Being constantly doubted has driven the young quarterback to heights many didn't imagine, he didn't receive the national spotlight until his final season at Baylor University and his ability to succeed in the NFL was still questioned until he lit the professional ranks up.

Many continue to criticise Griffin's ability to stay off the treatment table and believe that he needs to be more conservative, especially with how he avoids hits in the NFL.

Skip Bayless of ESPN First Take is a huge fan of Robert Griffin III but finds it mind boggling that the Redskins franchise quarterback has failed to learn to correctly slide to avoid contact.

He believes the Washington organisation should take Griffin aside and teach him the correct technique of sliding, no matter how absurd it sounds, it could well prevent him from suffering another catastrophic injury.

As fans of the NFL, we all hope that RG3 returns to the spectacular form of 2012 that made him one of the most exciting players in the league.

He has proved the doubters wrong on many occasions and this new season is just another opportunity for him to do so one more time.
