German international and World Cup winner,Lukas Podolski is all set to quit Arsenal this summer to move to Turkish giants,Galatasaray, according to The Sun.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels the sale of the German won’t have an adverse effect on his squad and with talents like Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Özil, Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla at his disposal, Podolski will be deemed surplus to requirements.
Galatasaray enquired about the availability of Podolski and Costa Rican winger,Joel Campbell as they are ready to quote £28million to sign the duo. Although Wenger would be happy to let Podolski leave, the Frenchman remains reluctant to sell Campbell, especially after his impressive showing in the World Cup in Brazil.
Podolski joined The Gunners in 2012 from Bundesliga side FC Cologne and has since made 69 first-team appearances, scoring 28 goals, over the two seasons.
Three clubs interested
The 29-year-old currently earns £100,000-per-week and was also a member of the Germany team that won the World Cup in Brazil this summer.
Serie A sides Inter Milan and AC Milan are interested in the former Bavarian but Galatasaray are favourites to land him by the end of the transfer window.
Wenger to hold on to Costa Rican wonderkid
Campbell spent productive loans spells at Olympiakos,Real Betis and Lorient but is now ready to match the skills as well as talents in the star-studded line-up at Arsenal.
Representing Germany in as many as three World Cup and experience in playing in Bundesliga and Premier League,Podolski will be a value-for-money signing for Cesare Prandelli’s squad.
Valued at around €20million,the forward’s sale to Galatasaray could help Wenger fund one more big money signing as we enter the final week of the summer transfer window.
