Roman Reigns is going to be the next big superstar of the WWE. Vince McMahon's company is giving the former Shield member the biggest bump of recent history.
Reigns, cousin of former WWE Champion and all round legend The Rock, has got the most fire behind them of anyone in wrestling right now and looks destined to be ready for a major Title fight pretty soon.
But according to reports from the Wrestling Observer, Roman won't be getting that kind of opportunity for a good while yet, at least if current plans stay the same with no injuries.
From the report:
"Regarding Roman Reigns possibly challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title after Night of Champions, Reigns will likely be kept out of the title picture until he wins it at WrestleMania 31.
Reigns is still the 'chosen one' but the idea behind his push right now is for him to rise to the top and having him lose to Lesnar at this point would be counterproductive.
If Reigns won the title now instead of at WrestleMania, they would miss out on the big WrestleMania moment and it would not maximize the impact of his title win."
It seems right to not throw Reigns in against someone like Brock Lesnar right now. Just with the way everything is with John Cena, Daniel Bryan and others, it would be foolish to throw him in straight away.
When you add in his lack of mic skills you realise why he is being held back. Reigns needs time to improve his promos for the big occasion.
There is no doubt in my mind that Reigns will be leaving WrestleMania 31 with the WWE title around his waist, but if he gets his hands on it before that is another question entirely, which it seems that only circumstance can dictate right now.
