Malky Mackay embroiled in fresh message story - paper round-up (1)

The transfer deadline may be less than two weeks away but, Mario Balotelli aside, it is not news of a major deal that has been dominating the pre-match press conferences and the back pages of the papers in recent days.

But rather it has been the reputation of Malkay Mackay that has been under extreme scrutiny following the leak of offensive messages exchanged between himself and Iain Moody while both were at Cardiff City.

Mackay and Moody appeared to send texts with racist, homophobic, anti-semitic and sexist content - the revelation of which prevented the former from replacing Tony Pulis as the manager of Crystal Palace.

Moody has since resigned from his own position at Selhurst Park and the careers of both appear to be in tatters. This is not something that will have been helped by yet more revelations printed in the weekend press.

There is, of course, also plenty of transfer news in the Saturday newspapers - including updates on Manchester United and Arsenal - but it is still Mackay who dominates.
