With the transfer deadline just over one week away, Manchester United are expected to be one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the remaining days of the window, as Louis van Gaal attempts to follow up the £16 million signing of Marcos Rojo with a couple of other additions in a bid to improve his squad.

The Red Devils boss has been heavily linked with a move for a number of high-profile stars, including Real Madrid's Argentine winger Angel di Maria, who looks like being the next player through the door at Old Trafford.

Latest reports in the Mail on Sunday suggest that Manchester United will pay a British record fee of £60 million up front to lure Di Maria to England - with an additional £8 million in add-ons - and have offered him wages of around £200,000-a-week.

The 26-year-old has also been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain, but Van Gaal is now the favourite to secure the World Cup star's signature having already held extensive talks with the player and his representatives.

Of course, Di Maria is not the only player that is being tipped for a move to Manchester United, or indeed the Premier League between now and September 1.
