Roman Reigns still the one to defeat Brock Lesnar

With all the rumours flying around about the John Cena/Brock Lesnar match at Summerslam and the way WWE wanted him to come over as a beast, its refreshing to know their plans for Wrestlemania 31 still remain the same.

WWE still plan for Roman Reigns to be the "chosen one" and to take the World Heavyweight Championship from Brock Lesnar at next April's show piece. It is also very likely that Roman will end up in this position as he does one better than this year by winning the Royal Rumble.

WWE's reason for Brock Lesnar's brutal win

Even though this is said to be locked in now there is no word on whether Roman will actually leave Mania 31 with the championship because former team-mate Seth Rollins could still be lurking in the shadows and be ready to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, the first time the briefcase has ever been cashed in at Wrestlemania.

The above is just speculation for now because there are also whispers that this could be saved until the Raw after Wrestlemania, like Dolph Ziggler in 2012 so that Roman will have his crowning moment and Seth can then have his the following night.

Rumours are rife

As of yet these are just rumours because many people thought Roman would be the one to step forward after John Cena fails to regain his title and tie Ric Flair as a sixteen time world champion at Night of Champions.

Whether it be someone like Rusev or Randy Orton, or even a returning Batista who will step up before Survivor Series, or whether the title is even defended at Survivor Series still remains a hot topic for discussion as WWE continue to build Brock up as an unbeatable beast.

How can Roman be built up further so that it is believable that he is the only one to tame such a beast? Will Roman and Randy finally end their on-going feud so that we can see them fight someone (anyone) else? These are all questions on the mind of the WWE Universe as they look at the six months that lay ahead and see who could be Brock Lesnar's next target.

Lesnar's next target?

Could it be Bray Wyatt? After all, Chris Jericho leaves after Night of Champions and almost everyone inside and outside WWE thinks the Eater of Worlds has something unique, could he be the one who silences the beast in the lead up to 2015?

Right now all we have is speculation, but now we know for sure Roman is set to be the face of the company next year, but how well will that sit with current faces John Cena and Randy Orton?
