Arsenal could have their summer transfer plans scuppered by Radamel Falcao, as the the Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool target could prevent them from being able to offload Lukas Podolski.
The Express are running with reports from Italy that claim the Gunners forward was interesting Juventus, but that a potential move could be hit after the Serie A champions emerged as favourites to land Falcao.
Race for Falcao
Reports earlier this summer suggested that the Premier League trio of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool had an interest in the AS Monaco striker. Further to this, the Anfield club were even reportedly close to signing him last week.
Juventus making a move for Falcao could spark officials at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Anfield into action. The former Ateltico Madrid and Porto striker is said to be unhappy with life in Ligue 1 and his considerable talent will make him one of the most sought-after strikers in the world.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s desire to offload Podolski may not sit well with some, as the Germany international is one of the Gunners’ fans favourite characters.
However, Arsene Wenger has never seemed to fully trust the former FC Koln star and was unlikely to be a part of the Arsenal manager’s first choice starting XI.
Not done enough
Podolski has an impressive minutes to goals record but his all-round contribution to the Emriates Stadium club’s general play is questionable, especially his defensive work when stationed on the left.
