PSG have announced that midfielder Adrien Rabiot could leave the club before the end of the transfer window, whilst Lyon manager Hubert Fournier has ruled out the possibility of Clement Grenier leaving after his injury sustained in the Europa League playoffs.
Rabiot, who is only 19, had turned down a new deal to stay with the current champions and with only 12 months left on his contract, manager Laurent Blanc reckons that the midfielder could decide to leave before the end of the month.
Arsenal have been said to be interested in signing the youngster, who has also been tracked by AC Milan and Roma.
The France U21 midfielder could cost up to £24 million, which could see those interested decide to wait until next season when he could leave for free.
The 19-year-old made his debut for PSG in the 2012/13 campaign before spending the remainder of the season on loan at Toulouse. He returned to the Parcs de Princes last season and played a part in helping his side retain the Ligue 1 title.
Rabiot has made 43 appearances for PSG, scoring three times. He has also played for the national side from under 16s up to the under 21s.
Another name that was heavily linked to the Premier League was Lyon’s Clement Grenier with Newcastle scouting the player since January, ever since the departure of Yohan Cabaye to PSG.
However, Lyon manager Fournier has ruled out a transfer after the player was injured during the first leg of the Europa League in Lyon’s 2-1 defeat to FC Astra.
Grenier suffered a recurrence of the groin injury that forced him out of the World Cup at the end of June, hobbling off the field at the end of the match on Thursday.
Fournier stated that the club thought that he was ready to return but sadly it seemed it was a bit too soon. To avoid any further recurrences, the 23-year-old has decided to have surgery which could rule him out for up to eight weeks.
The playmaker has been involved in a transfer battle since the start of the summer, with Lyon unwilling to let one of their star players leave.
Grenier has been at the club since 2002 and made his first appearance in 2009 after moving up from the academy. He has made 117 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 times.
