Everyone has been getting very excited lately about the announcement of Mario Balotelli rejoining the English Premier League.
I often receive rants about the power and raw talent of the player, he must have some sort of powers: all I see is an overly egotistical player who prays on weak will to score goals.
Although you can't deny the skill the player has, you can deny the fact that he will be a good addition to the squad. His aggressive nature is sure to clash with Daniel Sturridge.
The two both pride themselves on playing the alpha male role in the team, and sparks are sure to fly before the final whistle on their first venture together sounds.
Fans will be happy
From the point of view of the Liverpool fans, replacing one troublemaker (Luis Suarez) with an equally headline snatching bad boy in Balotelli is sure to benefit the club.
Having this addition to the team is certain to increase to exposure of the club in magazines and news papers alike. The real question is will the impact on the media be due to the shining performances of the field or of repeated stories of Balotelli's mischievous acts.
As much as I hate to admit it, I believe Balotelli's impact on the league will be significant. I can't see him performing as well as Diego Costa has for Chelsea, but if him and Sturridge can combine as the previous strike pair did they will be a huge force this season.
