Manchester United transfer news: Joe Allen on Van Gaal's radar

Published Add your comment

Manchester United have just smashed their transfer record to land Angel di Maria from Real Madrid - but according to Gary Neville they shouldn't stop there. Four players including Di Maria have signed on the dotted line this summer but Neville believes two more new faces are needed to make the Red Devils a force again. Arturo Vidal and Daley Blind have both been linked with a move to Old Trafford. Rumours about Vidal in particular are rife today - and reports from Italy say a contract has been agreed with the midfielder. Ajax have confirmed that no approach has been made for Blind as yet - but insist they won't sell up for less than £18 million. If they can't get Vidal then fans may be surprised by the alternative suggested by the papers this morning - the Daily Star say that Liverpool's Joe Allen is on manager Louis van Gaal's radar.
