The draw for the third round of the League cup has taken place and it has brought some interesting ties.
After demolishing Manchester United, League one side MK Dons will see progression to the next round as a real possibility as they were given another home tie against 2013 finalists Bradford City.
The other all League One contest will see Leyton Orient host Sheffield United. Both sides will be full of confidence after they both saw off Premier League opposition in the last round, beating Aston Villa and West Ham United respectively.
Champions Manchester City will begin their defence at home to Sheffield Wednesday, while their opponents in last year's final, Sunderland, will face a tricky test at home to Stoke City. However their commanding 3-0 victory away at Birmingham City in the last round should give them confidence going into the game.
There were four other all Premier League ties which will see Arsenal host Southampton, West Bromich Albion host Hull City, Crystal Palace host Newcastle United and 2013 winners Swansea play host to Roberto Martinez's Everton.
The two remaining League 2 sides Burton Albion and Shrewsbury Town will face stern tests in round three, as they are both drawn against Championship opposition in Brighton and Norwich respectively. but again both took Premier League scalps beating Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers so confidence will be high.
The Ties will take place on 23rd- 24th of September.
