WWE have been accused of a lot of things lately. There have been plenty of stories surrounding the glaring financial problems that WWE has, and recently Alberto Del Rio's departure highlighted a "rampant racism" problem in the company. But being devoid of knowledge of their rivals, that's a new one.
Well this is the latest news coming out this week regarding WWE's future move for a star that could potentially improve the product of the ailing wrestling company.
Ronda Rousey is one of the major stars of WWE's biggest and most threatening rival, Ultimate Fighting Championship [UFC]. But according to reports, the bigwigs that run WWE are not even completely sure who Ronda Rousey is. The fact that the head honchos in wrestling don't know who she is pretty disgraceful, but don't take our word for it, here are some quotes from the report.
"Most of the decision makers in WWE know nothing about UFC, and just weren’t familiar with her," Wrestlezone reported this week.
The reason why Ronda Rousey's name is being talked about in WWE circles now is because of the likeliness of a WWE debut for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion.
These days it's highly likely that the UFC superstar could well become a WWE superstar in the near future. But the question remains whether or not the two giants of sports entertainment will actually play ball with each other.
Ronda Rousey obviously wants to broaden her horizons beyond simply being a UFC fighter. That's why she appeared in the blockbuster movie Expendables 3 and plans to appear in more movies in the future.
WWE on the horizon
WWE is also likely to be something that she will be interested in. And it seems at least some WWE personnel know who she is - especially after her backstage appearance at SummerSlam - and they are now willing to offer her a deal down the line, according to reports.
"With Rousey actually getting backstage and meeting Stephanie, and having some face-time with the roster, the current feeling is that she will get an offer for some sort of on-screen role."
But it's understood that Ronda Rousey actually wanted to appear in SummerSlam itself this month, but plans for that failed to materialize into anything of real substance, despite Rousey's proximity to the actual event.
"Originally, the champ wanted to participate in the SummerSlam PPV itself, since it’s close to where she lives, but plans fell through," it has been reported.
Just like the WWE, you yourself might not know much about Ronda Rousey, so see below for her hilarious interview with chat show host Pete Holmes to fill you in on some information.
