Sad news being reported today concerning WWE Hall of Famer Jake 'The Snake' Roberts.
According to both Wrestling Inc. and Fansided, the legend of the ring is currently in hospital having fallen unconscious on a flight to Los Angeles earlier today.
As per Wrestling Inc:
"WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts has been hospitalized. According to reports, Roberts has been unconscious for hours and is not in good condition.
Roberts is currently unconscious in a Las Vegas area hospital where he is reportedly being diagnosed with double pneumonia. While in the hospital, doctors also discovered a mass on Roberts’ brain."
The latest reports indicate that Roberts - who enjoyed his wrestling heyday in the WWF during the 1980s and 90s - may be suffering from double pneumonia. Doctors are also believed to have discovered a mass of fluid on the WWE legend's brain.
The alarming news comes just months after it became apparent that Jake 'The Snake' had underwent emergency surgery for a cancerous tumor located behind his knee.
At the time Roberts displayed his characteristically determined demeanour, revealing "If the devil can't defeat me, cancer doesn't stand a chance."
And fellow WWE veteran Diamond Dallas Page, a close friend of Roberts, revealed earlier this spring that The Snake was making a strong recovery.
The whole WWE community is now hoping that the 2014 Hall-of-Fame inductee can summon up the strength once again to overcame this latest adversity.
As with a story of this kind developments are always occurring but at the time of writing another of Robert's friends, Sinn Bodhi (a fellow former WWE man a show of whoms 'The Snake' was travelling to LA to attend) took to Twitter to update concerned fans:
"@Jakesnakeddt is resting at the hospital. I've been there all night making sure he is comfortable. Thanks for all the kind messages!," wrote Bodhi Thursday afternoon.
Jake 'the snake' Roberts was a firm favorite with many who watched WWF during the late 80s and 90s, and whilst he suffered from issues outside of the ring in recent times, his incredible persona and equally awe-inspiring match-ups ensured he left a lasting impression with WWE fans up and down the nation.
With his health now a major concern it is safe to say he has their, and our support, as he seeks to fight back once again.
