Floyd Mayweather Jr is well known for dishing out banter back and forth with his upcoming opponents. But despite the fact he has a huge rematch against Marcos Maidana on September 13th, it is rapper 50 Cent that has been entwined with Mayweather recently in a bout of controversy.
Both men know how to make the headlines, and 50 Cent certainly knows how to frustrate Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Harry Potter jibe
50 Cent is fast becoming the closest person Mayweather has to a nemesis. That is because of his recent request for Mayweather to read a page of Harry Potter. It was a clear dig at Mayweather's expense.
Mayweather Jr made his own bland comeback by simply stating how much money he has, but his father, Mayweather Sr, has taken the much more explosive approach of calling out 50 Cent and requesting him to fight his son.
Tired of abuse
It is understood that the elder Mayweather is simply sick and tired of 50 Cent aiming his jokes the way of Mayweather Jr. Frustrated to the point of flipping out, Mayweather Sr says the laughing would stop if Mayweather and 50 Cent traded blows in the ring.
"50 Cent seems like he's got a problem since Floyd left him. Floyd befriended him before and then left him. It is 50 Cent that keeps putting stuff all over the internet. He's a world known singer and he's acting like a kid," Mayweather Sr revealed this week.
"50 Cent can't even read his mother****** self, because he spelt a word wrong. My son don't need to worry about looking back or anything like that.
"He don't need to worry about a guy like 50 cent because 50 Cent is a hater."
It gets better
Mayweather Sr made his comments during an interview with Brian Shapiro from "The Vegas Take" on Fox Sports 670 Las Vegas, and he added that if the two got in the ring, the real hilarity would ensue.
"He weighs over 100 pounds more than Floyd. Let him go up against Floyd, put that on video. Floyd would stop all that. Wouldn't be no more said."
