The first two NXT specials have gone down as two very successful events. Both Arrival and Takeover showcased the wrestling skills of many talented superstars and divas and Takeover II will be no different.
Triple H - who looks as NXT as his own project which he is overlooking very well – announced that the third NXT special will be titled Takeover II and will take place on September 11 2014; just over a week earlier than the Night of Champions pay-per-view.
To take it up a notch, it was also announced that all three of the NXT titles will be on the line.
Titles to change hands?
By the looks of things right now, it seems new champions could be crowned at Takeover II.
The Ascension will look to continue their tag team dominance as they defend the NXT Tag Team Championships against the winners of the NXT Tag Team Championship tournament – if you wish to avoid the spoiler, turn back now.
Kalisto and Sin Cara will be looking to dethrone The Ascension whilst Charlotte will be putting her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Bayley.
The main event will see Adrian Neville put his NXT Championship on the line in a fatal 4 way bout against Tyler Breeze, Tyson Kidd and Sami Zayn in what is expected to be a fantastic match with four excellent in-ring workers.
However, it does look as if the championships could be changing hands at the event, due the ‘tryout’ matches which have been taking place at house shows over the last week or so.
Main roster call-up
The company have been making Bayley and Charlotte practice their championship match where Sasha Banks cost Charlotte the victory and allowed Bayley to pick up the non-title win on the house show. It’s unclear whether Sasha Banks will have any part to play at Takeover II, this means Bayley could be expected to capture the NXT Women’s Championship as the WWE look to promote Charlotte to the main roster, and would allow Ric Flair to work with his daughter on television every Monday and Friday nights.
There is a chance the WWE might choose to wait a little longer with Charlotte and let her carry the gold for a little longer before dropping it, but even if she does drop it to Bayley it won’t hurt her reputation as a strong diva, I believe she is more than ready to cause a serious impact on the main roster, especially with The Nature Boy in her corner.

I don’t think Sin Cara and Kalisto will be walking out of Takeover II with the NXT Tag Team Championships unless they are tying Sin Cara down to NXT, like Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel have been doing for a while. If Sin Cara will stay there, then it is a possibility so that The Ascension can finally move to the main roster which has been speculated since the beginning of the year.
Finally, with the NXT Championship it does look as if Adrian Neville could finally drop the championship. The man that gravity forgot captured the title at NXT Arrival where he defeated Bo Dallas before going on to successfully defend it against Tyson Kidd at Takeover.
Now he faces a mammoth task to retain his championship in a fatal 4 way match.
The match they put on at a recent house show saw a new NXT Champion be crowned, and if that is anything to go by then expect Sami Zayn to finally capture the NXT Championship from Adrian Neville.
This does have its positives and negatives for Adrian Neville, as a loss means he is free to jump ship to the main roster where his skills will be utilised to the best of his abilities but at the same time, NXT needs Adrian Neville as he is the number one star on the show. We cannot have it both ways, selfishly as a Sami Zayn fan I hope Sami Zayn does go through and capture the title, so Adrian Neville does eventually have his rematch, before making the move to the main roster.
