Manchester United have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Ajax over the transfer of Netherlands international Daley Blind.
The Red Devils announced the deal via their official Twitter account on Saturday morning, with the transfer set to be finalised later this weekend once the player has completed a routine medical and agreed personal terms.
Fifth summer signing
Blind, 24, will become United’s fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo - who is still waiting for his work permit to be granted - and record signing Angel Di Maria, who joined the Red Devils for a British transfer record fee of £59.7 million from Real Madrid earlier this week.
£14m fee agreed - reports
Manchester United are expected to pay Ajax £14 million for Blind, who worked under United boss Louis van Gaal with the Netherlands national team and is capable of playing at left-back, left wing-back, centre-back and as a holding midfielder.
Blind, who was named the 2014 Dutch Footballer of the Year, will be eligible to make his Manchester United debut against Queens Park Rangers after the international break.
