Burnley vs Manchester United
Saturday August 30
Manchester United are in the midst of a mini-crisis and Louis van Gaal will be desperate to register his first competitive win against Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League early kick-off.
The signing of Angel di Maria for a record transfer was the big news out of Old Trafofrd this week and fans of the Red Devils will be hoping he can give the side an immediate lift, as Van Gaal has decided to throw him straight into the starting XI.
However, it will be no easy task for Manchester United, as Burnley put in a spirited display at home to Chelsea in their opening Premier League fixture after promotion last season and may fancy their chances of an upset against a United low on confidence.
Here are the teams...
De Gea, Jones, Evans, Blackett, Valencia, Young, Fletcher, Di Maria, Mata, Rooney, Van Persie.
Subs: Januzaj, Hernandez, Welbeck, James, M. Keane, Anderson, Amos.
Heaton; Trippier, Duff, Shackell (c), Mee; Arfield, Jones, Marney, Taylor; Ings, Jutkiewicz.
Subs: Gilks, Ward, Reid, Long, Wallace, Sordell, Barnes.
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the Red Devils last strip to Turf Moor, where they were defeated 1-0 on a raucous evening in Lancashire.
However, with new signing Di Maria in the side, Van Gaal will be sending out a formidable front line that is the envy of the rest of the Premier League.
It is in defence where concerns remain for the Dutchman; new signing Marcos Rojo is still unavailable due to work permit issues, while the club confirmed on Saturday morning that a fee had been agreed with Ajax for utility man Daley Blind.
Van Gaal will be hoping the pair can help bolster the back line, but a improvement will be needed against a Burnley side who are also chasing their first competitive win of the season.
