On September 11 2014, NXT will be airing its third special event following the great success of NXT: Arrival and NXT: Takeover.
Takeover II has five matches announced so far, barring any last minute additions in the coming week it looks as if these five matches will be the ones which will be on show, and none of them will disappoint.
The avid NXT fans will know this won’t be a show to miss as some of the best the show has to offer will be competing. But this is also an opportunity for the casual WWE fans to tune in and actually witness the bright future the WWE has; it certainly won’t be an event to miss.
Triple H takes pride in his little project that is NXT; and it won’t come as a surprise if certain NXT stars are promoted to the main roster after this event and this time, they will be a success.
With the event only a short time away, here is what I think will go down at Takeover II.
Enzo Amore vs. Sylvester Lefort – Hair vs. Hair match
A unique stipulation in today’s WWE but I think this gimmick makes it pretty obvious which way this match will go. They’re both fantastic in-ring workers and they play their gimmick very well, the chemistry they have not only with their tag team partners in Colin Cassady and Marcus Louis, but Enzo and Sylvester Lefort themselves have great chemistry which should make this match an interesting one.
However with Enzo’s ever-changing hairstyles and facial hair it just seems obvious that they will go with Enzo Amore having his head and potentially his beard taken off. I highly doubt they will shave off Lefort’s hair entirely as it all comes as part of his impressive image. I expect Sylvester Lefort to defeat Enzo Amore in this match.
Mojo Rawley vs. Bull Dempsey
A simple singles match between two of NXT’s big men, the two were teaming up for a few weeks until The Vaudevillians defeated them in the NXT Tag Team Championship tournament and then we saw Dempsey’s nasty side when he destroyed Mojo Rawley. Now that the match is made it should allow the fans to see more of Bull Dempsey.
I believe Bull Dempsey has the potential to be a big NXT star, and I think he can pull off being a face or a heel and should be able to leapfrog Mojo Rawley in the NXT rankings. He has NXT Champion qualities and I think Bull Dempsey will go on to pick up his first special event win at Takeover II.

The Ascension © vs. Kalisto and Sin Cara – NXT Tag Team Championship
A match the NXT fans have been waiting for, after steamrolling their way through every single team that has dared to step into the ring with them, the NXT Tag Team Championship winners in Kalisto and Sin Cara will be the latest team to try and defeat The Ascension.
I think we’re all aware that The Ascension will be on the main roster very soon and that’s one reason why I believe Kalisto and Sin Cara should be taken as serious contenders, they’re not here for the sake of it. At the same time, an Ascension victory will make them look unstoppable, they can still somehow get to the main roster with the NXT Tag Team Championships intact and a victory wouldn’t surprise me. Even though it may not seem like it, it is a match split down the middle but I will go with the challengers in Kalisto and Sin Cara who will become the new champions.
Charlotte © vs. Bayley – NXT Women’s Championship
If the recent house show result is anything to go by then it looks as if we could have a new champion. It’s not just that, but there have been very strong rumours circulating that Charlotte could also be on her way to the main roster where her father Ric Flair will accompany her and become a regular TV character once more.
Bayley is ready for the NXT Women’ Championship and there is a long list of worthy heel contenders also. Charlotte is ready for the main roster and not just ready, but ready to be a big part of it and make a serious impact. She has the look, the charisma and the superios in-ring ability to most divas on the main roster. As a selfish NXT fan I hope she stays on NXT, and I think she will for a short while and will drop the title on an episode of NXT and not at a special event, I believe Charlotte will retain for now.
Adrian Neville © vs. Sami Zayn vs, Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd – NXT Championship
A blockbuster main event which I don’t think could get any bigger; four of the greatest talents in the WWE inside a ring battling to be the number one superstar on NXT sounds like the best main event we could ask for right now and that’s exactly what we are getting. Again, similar to Charlotte and Bayley if a recent house show result is anything to go by then expect a new champion.
It’s not clear whether Adrian Neville is in line to make a jump to the main roster just yet as – although he’s ready – he is too big an asset to NXT right now to lose. It is a difficult match to call and as fantastic a champion Adrian Neville has been I do think NXT will have a new champion and Sami Zayn will be the man to finally hold the gold.
They’re my predictions for NXT Takeover II; let me know what you think will go down at the event in the comments section below.
