Alessio Cerci completes €16m move to Atletico Madrid

Alessio Cerci has completed his medical at the Fremap Clinic and signed for Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, according to BBC Sport.

The established Italian international has snubbed a reported move to Barclays Premier League giants, Arsenal, for the reigning La Liga champions and Champions League finalists as Diego Simeone looks to build on last season's successes.

The deal

Los Rojiblancos announced an agreement with Torino over the reported €16 million transfer fee plus €3 million in bonuses on Sunday evening, amidst heavy interest from other suitors, namely Arsenal and Juventus.

The 27-year-old has now travelled to the Vicente Calderon to sign his three-year contract prior to his official revealing at the club. The ex-Torino lynchpin netted 13 goals and pinged 10 assists in his final season at Torino.
