Manchester United have the first option to buy back Tom Lawrence after the forward joined Premier League outfit Leicester City for £1 million, according to James Ducker of The Times.

Lawrence completed a transfer deadline day move to the Foxes after failing to challenge for a first team place at Old Trafford. And now, with Leicester in the Premier League, the youngster will be desperate to prove his credentials in England's elite division this season this season.

Buy back?

However, the youngster could still make a return to Manchester United in the future. With Lawrence still only 20-years-old, it seems a clever move for the Red Devils hierarchy to have implemented a buy back clause in the deal with the Premier League outfit.

One man that certainly will be heading back to Old Trafford from the King Power stadium is central-midfielder Nick Powell, who also joined the club in the transfer window. Powell, however, only joined the club on a season-long loan, and will be hoping to prove himself at the club as they go in search of staying in England's top flight.

Deadline day business

Manchester United were extremely active on deadline day, with forward Danny Welbeck also departing the club for Premier League rivals Arsenal. The England international has struggled for some time at Old Trafford, with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in front of him in the pecking order.

And, with Radamel Falcao also having joined the Red Devils on Monday, Welbeck will now be hoping for a starring role at the Emirates under Arsene Wenger this term. It remains to be seen, however, as to whether Welbeck becomes Arsenal's No.1 striker this term or whether Olivier Giroud takes his place in the starting XI when he returns from injury.

Manchester United fans, meanwhile, will also be excited by the signing of Daley Blind. The versatile Dutchman could play a key role for the club this term, either in the middle of the park or at left-back.

It certainly looks set to be an exciting season for the Red Devils, with the club now looking to find an identity with their new signings under Van Gaal.
