WWE has many problems right now and one of the most glaring is its script writing.
The latest episode of Monday Night Raw highlighted these issues for all to see.
Such a talented cast was utilized in the wrong way as WWE fans were left feeling underwhelmed yet again.
But don't take our word for it, former WWE and TNA script writer Vince Russo was one of the most vocal critics of the show.
In fact, his anger towards Vince McMahon, Triple H and co became so bad that he issued his very own open letter to them. Now this letter is quite considered and less angry than his previous comments, but they will still certainly give the WWE bigwigs something to think about.
Not the best effort
Here's an excerpt from the letter which was published on Vince Russo's website, with the letter being aimed at McMahon, HHH and the writing team.
"The truth is—I hate to criticize RAW. I really do. Having been there and done that, I realize how difficult it is to come up with two hours of compelling content every week," Russo explained.
"I understand that, and nobody can be criticized for trying and giving their best effort. But is what we see every Monday Night honestly and truly your best effort? I just know that having worked with all three of you in the past, I don’t think any of us would have been satisfied, or even allowed last night’s show [Sept 1st] to air in its final form."
The truth is that many WWE fans are currently feeling disillusioned with the WWE product. Most feel like wrestling is becoming less and less believable.
Quite a lot of fans share the opinion of Batista, who recently criticized the WWE creative team for not making one of Daniel Bryan's storylines believable.
Batista's comments were regarding the WrestleMania storyline that had Daniel Bryan heavily beaten before he miraculously returned and won the title. The fact that Bryan wasn't "selling" the next night on Raw was what "irked" Batista.
Fans deserve better
And it is storylines like this that are frustrating not just Batista and Vince Russo, but the whole wrestling community. But as Russo puts it, we will still all love WWE come what may, even though we deserve better.
"Yes we will always be here no matter what. We support you, and we support the WWE, but the truth is we deserve better. And, deep down inside I know that you know that," added Russo.
