John Cena came out all guns blazing on Monday night Raw in an attempt to prove to Triple H and his WWE cohorts that he was ready to take on, and beat, Brock Lesnar in a proposed match up at the upcoming 'Night of Champions.'
After Triple H had suggested the chance of a title re-match may be in doubt Cena laid it all out on the line in a six-way Highlight Reel match before threatening to sue the WWE's Chief Operating Officer should his shot at Lesnar be denied.
Now with the dust settled Triple H has spoken out about Cena's actions, as well as the fan favorite's chances against the threat of Brock Lesnar.
And it is fair to say he still needs some convincing:
"There is a certain point in time for confidence, a certain point in time for aggression and all those things, and I get it.
"But John Cena said the words to me 'lawsuit'. Hustle, loyalty, respect...lawsuit. It doesn't even fit right?," Triple H told Michael Cole in his weekly sitdown interview.
The move certainly was an unusual one from John Cena who usually rises above the drama outside of the ring to allow his wrestling to do the talking.
And HHH thinks he may have figured out just what has got Cena acting this way.
"You think John Cena's ready? He's working awfully hard at convincing somebody - and I don't know if that's me, if that's Brock Lesnar, I don't know if that's the WWE Universe, or I don't know if that's John Cena himself...
"I do know he damn well better be ready...The match is happening."
Cena vs Lesnar first time around
John Cena is so desperate of course for the chance to defeat Brock Lesnar at the 'Night of Champions' because of the frankly humbling defeat he suffered to the returning WWE superstar at SummerSlam back in August.
Many WWE fans and even those inside the company were shocked at just what a beating Cena took as he lost the title to Lesnar.
And although John Cena's history and experience in the WWE mean he has the respect of many, Triple H actually admitted he fears for the face of the WWE if he has to face a "100-percent" Lesnar.
"John Cena had better be ready because Brock Lesnar is ready. And like (Paul) Heyman said, at 100-percent Brock Lesnar can't be touched.
"John Cena doesn't have to worry about stopping a 100-percent Brock Lesnar. I think John Cena has to worry about surviving a 100-percent Brock Lesnar," Triple H concluded in what must be a difficult couple of minutes for Cena to listen back to.
With Cena's physical fitness brought into question recently, with reports of serious long-lasting injuries beginning to take their toll on the veteran, Triple H's threat has added gravitas for the WWE Universe.
What do you think? Can Cena come back to avenge his brutal SummerSlam loss, or is Triple H right? Is there really no stopping Lesnar?
