Former WWE Champion could join TNA

Former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio is currently a target for rival promotion TNA as they are trying to sign him to a new contract.

Del Rio, who competed in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship could now be set to sign for their biggest rival.

TNA and WWE share many superstars who have appeared in both companies and now Del Rio looks likely to become the next.

He has been out of a job since the WWE released him several weeks ago following an altercation with a member of the WWE's back room staff.

Details are yet to be completely released about what happened with Del Rio but it is believed that the incident centered around racist remarks.

It is believed that the employee made a racist joke and that Del Rio reacted in kind which resulted in both being relieved by the company.

The validity behind these rumours is not certain but should they be accurate, Del Rio wouldn't be in the worst light following the incidents.

Del Rio has since returned to his home country of Mexico and joined wrestling promotion  Asistencia Asesoría y Administración.

A move to TNA could reignite Del Rio's career which was pretty much dormant even before he left the WWE.

Mexico's greatest export back in business

Del Rio's WWE career has arguably been very quiet over the last year as he hasn't really been involved in many feuds or high profile matches.

He was included in the Money in the Bank ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but even his qualification for that was done before the match was even announced.

Del Rio failed to win his last title match in the WWE and even in the fallout of the Pay-Per-View Del Rio was not really featured.

So it would be a step forward for Del Rio to move to TNA, should he want to return to the USA since there were rumours that he was planning to move back to his home country at the end of his WWE contract anyway.
