Kevin Strootman's agent has insisted that there's been no contact from Manchester United over his client's signature.
This has been reported by the Manchester Evening News, who have suggested that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal wants to bring the £30 million rated ace to Old Trafford in the near future.
In fact, a number of recent reports have suggested that the United boss will try and land him in the January transfer window. Strootman, of course, is currently out with a long term knee injury, but Strootman's agent, Fabio Parisi, has revealed that he will be back in action soon.
Speaking to reporters, Parisi said: "There is no kind of interest on Strootman. He is recovering from his injury and will be available soon to contribute to Roma's cause.
"For the rest, I say that is just talk and there is nothing. It's all just speculation from England."
It remains to be seen, however, as to whether Manchester United step up their interest in the highly rated Dutchman upon his return from injury. It's expected that United will continue spending in the winter market, having already landed £150 million worth of talent this past summer.
For now, though, Manchester United boss Van Gaal will have to utilise the options he has at his disposal. A number of the midfielders at Old Trafford have struggled to make an impact in recent time, with the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Darren Fletcher and Co. struggling for consistency.
Tom Cleverley and Nick Powell left the club on loan last week, whilst Anderson stayed with the club despite his poor form in recent time. The Red Devils do, however, have new options in the midfield department, with Van Gaal having landed Spanish ace Ander Herrera and Daley Blind who can play in the defensive-midfield role this term.
United fans will also be hoping that Michael Carrick makes a speedy recovery after he picked up a long term injury in pre-season.
Manchester United will be hoping to find some form after a poor start to this season. The Red Devils were dumped out of the Capital One Cup at the hands of League One outfit MK Dons at the second round stage, whilst Van Gaal's side have yet to secure a victory in the Premier League this season.
The Red Devils have a chance to make amends on September 14 as they play host to QPR, in a clash that could see a number of new signings make their debut for the club.
