Manchester United have been placed on red alert for the services of Yevhen Konoplyanka after the Ukrainian winger turned down the offer of a new contract with FC Dnipro. (Daily Star)

The 24-year-old was linked with a £12 million move to Old Trafford during the recent transfer window, but could now join the Red Devils on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

Louis van Gaal will face stiff competition for the player's signature though, with Liverpool and Tottenham also mooted as admirers of the talented wide-man.

Konoplyanka is said to be furious with Dnipro for blocking a move away last season, and now suitors outside of Ukraine will be able to negotiate a prospective transfer at the end of his deal, from the 1st of January onwards.
