Depending on your disposition, this latest news on Vince McMahon will either be great news or make you even more worried than you already are about WWE's future.
WWE has many problems right now and some fans blame Chairman Vince McMahon for the company's failings. The WWE's top dog owns 52% of the company and still has a major say in the direction and decision of the entertainment business, even at the age of 69.
But surely he will retire at some point from his position at the top of the company? Well it seems not.
McMahon won't retire
WWE's Chief Operating Officer Triple H was on superstar wrestler Chris Jericho's podcast, Talk is Jericho, this week and the topic of conversation naturally shifted to Vince McMahon.
In quite a revealing and frank interview, Jericho asked whether he could see McMahon stepping down from the company.
“Jericho asked Triple H if Vince would ever step down from the company, to which Hunter confidently said no," HHH reportedly said.
“HHH then went on to explain that Vince works more hours than ever before nowadays and rarely gets sleep. According to the King of Kings, Vince perceives exhaustion as an enemy and deals with it by training at the gym."
Triple H may take over WWE
Triple H is no longer the beast of a wrestler he used to be and now his character provides more of a presence on screen than anything else.
Some say that he will take over the WWE when Vince McMahon decides to give it up. But HHH insists that he would only ever take charge when McMahon passes away, and not a minute sooner.
“Triple H also states that he is not being groomed to take over the company, and that if he does it will be because Vince McMahon has passed away.”
