LeBron James opted to join the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason, turning down a whole host of NBA teams interested in acquiring his services in the process.
One of those teams were the Phoenix Suns with the Western Conference franchise failing in their audacious bid to woo the face of the NBA.
But although LeBron didn't see his future in Phoenix he has today offered the Suns some invaluable advice when it comes to keeping hold of their current star names.
Taking to Instagram LeBron James posted a picture showing himself alongside Eric Bledsoe - a man whose future in Phoenix remains uncertain after a summer of failed negotiations.
Alongside the picture of the two NBA stars James attached the following message:
"Great work today lil bro @ebled2!! Future All-Star in this league in no time. PHX break bread. #Klutch #Work #GymRats #StriveForGreatness."
'Break Bread'? His message to Phoenix quite clear, pay the young superstar before he walks away.
Eric Bledsoe is the last of the big names available in the restricted free agency class of 2014 but his management team have failed to generate real interest from elsewhere due to the player's apparent max-contract demands.
The Suns are keen to keep hold of one of the key men and last reports suggest they offered Bledsoe $48 million over four years only for the player to show them the cold shoulder over the summer.
As such it seems odd that LeBron James is calling on Phoenix to be the ones to step down in order to reach a deal. But, as James mentions, Eric Bledsoe is a talent and the Suns may regret their stance should he leave as an unrestricted free agent in 2015 which seems likely at this point.
Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points and 5.5 assists for the Suns before injury curtailed his 2013-14 season and his talents have been recognized by franchises across the league.
Both the Houston Rockets and LA Lakers are said to be preparing big moves for the player in 2015 should he sign a one-year qualifying offer with the Suns in the coming weeks.
With LeBron James now doing his bit for his cause however Eric Bledsoe may just yet find a way to get paid this summer - in Phoenix or elsewhere. The Cleveland Cavaliers star has shown his talents as a negotiator this summer already.
When the Cavs were in the midst of a battle for Kevin Love back in July LeBron James took it upon himself to call the former Timberwolves man directly, explaining to Love the Cavs' win-now plans.
That one worked out the way James envisaged so lets not bet against the Phoenix Suns making a new offer to Bledsoe in the coming days.
