England will look to bolster their attack after winning 1-0 against Norway in an international friendly earlier this week.

England will also look to prove a point as they go up against a side ranked 11 places higher than them in the FIFA rankings.

Switzerland, like most countries to play England, will look towards proving a point against England’s overzealous press.

Both teams will want to win this game to place them as far up on the table as possible.

As in most groups, only the top two teams can qualify for the Euros in France.

England captain Wayne Rooney has issued a battle cry for this opening qualifier game as England came in for serious criticism following their lacklustre display at Wembley.

The Three Lions were only able to hold onto a 1-0 win that came from a penalty shout in the second half.

Hodgson will surely be looking to increase shot attempts in this match after being angered during a press conference. Hodgson was bombarded last week by statistics about England only having two shots on target during the game.

There is a lot of room for improvement, and it can't come soon enough as England now face their toughest draw.

This is expected to be the hardest game for England in their qualifying group as they face Switzerland, the highest ranking team in the group, in Basil, their home stadium.

Switzerland proved themselves during the World Cup this year after reaching the last 16.

Predicted starting 11...

Switzerland 4-3-3

Benaglio, Lichsteiner, Schar, Djourou, Rodriguez, Inler, Behrami, Xhaka, Shakiri, Mahmedi, Drmic

England 4-3-1-2

Hart, Stones, Cahill, Jones, Baines, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wilshere, Sterling, Rooney, Welbeck
