The €55m-rated forward joined Manchester United on deadline day in a €10m season-long loan deal, but Leboeuf believes it was disrespectful to leave his team in the manner in which he did.
Reports claim Falcao was being shopped around by his representatives after James Rodriguez left for Real Madrid, with Arsenal, Manchester City, PSG and United all approached to sound out their interest.
Man United transfer round-up
“I love Radamel Falcao, he’s a great player, but the way the transfer was completed was massively disrespectful,” Leboeuf said as reported by Le 10 Sport.
“I feel that he came to Monaco so he could just leave one year later. This is not respectful to Monaco or to Ligue 1.
“This is a mistake for him to leave Atletico Madrid for Monaco because he had somewhere he didn’t want to be.”
The Colombian international did indeed just spend a single season in France, and it was a surprise at the time that he left Atletico Madrid, poised to enter the Champions League, for Monaco in Ligue 1.
And he’s now left Monaco as they prepare for their Champions League return for Manchester United, who are not in Europe’s elite club competition having finished seventh in the Premier League last term.
Falcao joins United and will link up with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Angel Di Maria at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see how Louis van Gaal fits all his new pieces into a starting eleven.
