Spain v Macedonia
Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, Valencia
Euro 2016 qualifier
Spain begin their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign against Macedonia in Valencia this evening and manager Vicente del Bosque will be hoping La Roja fans get behind the team as they attempt to bounce back from their 1-0 friendly defeat against France last week.
The European champions are without star striker Diego Costa after the Chelsea man aggravated his hamstring in Paris, flying back to England on Friday.
Paco Alcacer replaces Costa at the focal point of attack, and will be looking to prove he has what it takes to lead the line, albeit against lowly opposition at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia this evening.
Cesc Fabregas: Spain must be patient
Del Bosque has been dealt an additional injury blow following news that Daniel Carvajal suffered a thigh injury in training, with Atletico Madrid full-back Juanfran ready to deputise.
La Roja are of course also without several key figures from years gone by, following the retirements of Xavi Hernandez, Xabi Alonso and David Villa in the aftermath of the country's World Cup humiliation in Brazil.
The new-look side will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Macedonia and prove they are still a leading force in international football.
Spain XI: Casillas, Juanfran, Ramos, Albiol, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Koke, Cesc, Silva, Pedro; Alcacer.
Macedonia XI: Pacovski, Cuculi, Mojsov, Sikov, Ristovski, Alilovski, Ibraimi, Abdurahimi, Spirovski, Trajkovski, Jahovic
