A host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are looking to swoop for the next wave of talent emerging from Barcelona's La Masia academy according to reports in Spain.
The Catalan club endured a trophy-less campaign last time round which prompted the departure off former boss Gerardo Martino and appears to have ushered in a new generation of talent from the club's famed La Masia academy.
The likes of Rafinha and Munir have been given a chance to shine in the early stages of this season for Barcelona, while the likes of Sergi Roberto, Sergi Samper and Adama Traore are all waiting in the wings.
That seems to have attracted the interest of a host of Premier League clubs, who have looked to Barcelona's academy for the next big thing for some time.
El Mundo Deportivo report that Traore is wanted by Manchester United, while Everton, Stoke and Southampton are also in the running for the winger. Munir is set to be the subject of a battle between both Arsenal and Chelsea, while Liverpool want Alex Grimaldo and 21-year-old right back Patric. Jean Marie Dongou is attracting interest from Celtic.
Traore may be given the chance to shine following the departure of Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal, but Manchester United will hope that they can prise him away from his current club before he can establish himself in the first team.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Sergi Samper and reportedly activated his €12 million release clause during the transfer window only to be told by the player that he wanted to stay and fight his way into the Barcelona first team.
As things stand, the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are set to be frustrated in their efforts to sign the talented youngsters as they bide their time for a starting spot at Barcelona.
However the Catalan club have spent big over the summer, signing Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal, Luis Suarez from Liverpool and Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla amongst others, and that could mean chances in the first team are hard to come by.
Of course Arsenal have previously raided La Masia, most notably when they landed Cesc Fabregas back in 2003 at just 16-years-old. The midfielder went on to make 303 appearances for the Gunners, scoring more than 50 goals and becoming club captain before returning to the Camp Nou in 2011.
