Stuttgart centre-half Antonio Rudiger has hinted that he could join Manchester United in the future after the Red Devils enquired about his services in the summer transfer window, reports the Express.
The 21-year-old, who is now a German international, has admitted that a move to the Premier League would be a 'dream', but has insisted that his immediate focus is on Stuttgart.
Rudiger, then, will will look to continue to impress admirers this term as he looks to help Stuttgart achieve success in the Bundesliga.
When speaking about a move to England's elite division, the German ace said: "The enquiry honours me, it makes me proud. But I focus on the VFB, and I will continue to grow.
"What might happen sometime in the future, I do not know. This is of course a top international address. And they play in the league of which I dream."
It's a surprise that Manchester United didn't look to complete a deal to bring the youngster to the club after their defensive struggles so far this season. The club have looked fragile at the back following the departures of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra at the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal did, however, complete deals for Argentine star Marcos Rojo and teenager Luke Shaw in the summer transfer window. The duo could in fact make their long overdue debuts for the club this weekend against QPR.
Rojo has only just been given clearance to play for the club following work permit issues, whilst Shaw has struggled with injury at Old Trafford since pre-season.
As well as Rojo and Shaw, Van Gaal could hand versatile Dutch star Daley Blind and Colombian striker Radamel Falcao their debuts this weekend. Argentine superstar Angel di Maria will also be hoping to play in front of the Old Trafford crowd for the first time since signing for the club.
Manchester United will be desperate to secure all three points against the Hoops this weekend, as the club go in search of their first win under Louis van Gaal.
